How to setup wordpress after Installing

What do you do after installing WordPress? This is a common question asked by beginners.

1. Change The Title, Tagline, Time zone, Logo, and Favicon

The first three steps can be combined into one because you can quickly make those changes in the same area of your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

  • Change Title Tagline (Dashboard => Setting => General)
  • Time Zone  (Dashboard => Setting => General)
  • Logo & Favicon (Appearance => Customize => Site Identity)

SEO Tips; A good SEO friendly post title is human readable, contains your focus keyword and is within the 70 characters limit. However, it also needs to be catchy. When your page appears in the search results, a user will decide whether or not they want to click on it based on the SEO title and the description in the search snippet.

2. Change Your Permalink Structure

Unfortunately, the default permalink structure — the URL structure that tacked on the end of your site name — of WordPress is not very Google friendly. As that is the case, you should be sure to alter this to something else. Recommended Permalink “Customize Permalink”
Go back to Settings and then select Permalink from the menu. There you will find a few different choices for setting a new structure. The best ones to use are either the Day and Name or Post Name options.

3. Configure the Reading Settings

While in the Settings area of your dashboard, you should also configure the Reading settings. Here you can set what your front page display will be.

This part is great if you want to have a custom homepage to display your services and have a separate page to display all your blog posts.
Navigate over to the Reading option in the menu and decide if you want your front page to show your latest posts or if you want to use a static page. Make your choice and then save your changes. You can always change this one later, so don’t feel too pressured.

4. Delete Unused Themes

Most WordPress users will install and test a few themes before deciding on one that’s a keeper. Instead of leaving those unused themes installed, be sure to delete them. Themes even ones that go unused, will need updates.
Leaving them there can create the unnecessary chore of updating them. And not updating them can create a hazard to your sites safety as it can give hackers a way in.
Thankfully, deleting unused themes is a snap. Simply find the menu item named Appearance, and then go to themes. To delete a given theme, you need to hover over it and select Theme Details. After that, a window will open and the option to delete the theme will be available there.


5. Change to Premium Themes

6. How to Install Premium Theme

First thing you need to do is login to your WordPress admin area. Next, click on Appearance => Themes.

Once you are on the themes page, click on the Add New button at the top. Install

  1. unpackage to file
  2. Get a Theme File and Child theme
  3. Upload Theme choose a Theme File and Child Theme file
  4. After few seconds the theme will be installed.
  5. Click the Activate button
  6. You’ll be redirected to the Welcome page
  7. Here you can choose which plugins to install and whether or not ot import the demo content
  8. Click the Proceed button
  9. Import Data XML, if you want to same a demo theme.
  10. Import Slide Revolution banner
  11. Go to Theme Options
  12. Change a Logo, favicon, site colors, and anything.

After that you can build a Home page, post, category and menu

7. How to Setting Menu

Go to Appearance =>Menus. go first to “Manage Locations” maybe you can see a “Primary menu, Vertical menu, footer menu, user Navigation and Custom ” Choose the all options.

Primary Menu- is a part on header menu
Vertical menu- is a part on left category menu
Footer Menu- is a part footer header
User Navigation- is a part user menu
